A hybrid of animation and live-action, Ever-Flowing is an exploration of trauma, loss of innocence, and the long, often impossible road to healing. It illustrates a joy and love that's been lost to a victim due to a predator, and how said victim, once tainted, can never join that world again... But what can you do but dance in the rain?
For this score I employed a twist on fairy tale whimsy, warping it and twisting it. A sullen piano reflects the deadened emotions of our protagonist, and even though small moments of iridescent violins and celesta joy can be found for them, they retreat back into that protective shell. Eventually, it all comes spilling out with various strings, woodwinds, guitar, drums, and electronic torrents of rain.
